This is a glossary of terms commonly used with World Wind.

A

add-on
A feature that is not part of the core of World Wind. These can be layers, scripts or in some other way related to World Wind. Add-ons are usually community made.
Altitude
Distance above sea level.

LandSat7
The seventh satellite of the LandSat project.
Latitude
Degrees difference North or South from the Equator.
layer
Data that can be shown or hidden on the planet in World Wind. A layer can contain any of images, text and trails.
Longitude
Degrees difference East or West from Greenwich, England.

Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer
