Info

This add-on is an attempt to put together as much imagery as possible for use in World Wind. These are high detail orthophotos from public wms servers.

There are a number of variables that can be changed to fine tune the way the imagery is downloaded. These may change between versions which means that imagery may become obsolete between versions and will be downloaded again.

Installation

Put the OneEarth.xml into C:\Program Files\NASA\World Wind 1.3\Config\Earth. That's it.

As with all add-ons you'll need to restart World Wind if it is already running.

Image Info

New Zealand

New Zealand is a country in the South Pacific. This includes all imagery available from the government.

Note: The server is very slow. The above linked page states, "WMS Service is temporarily unavailable. The issue is being investigated.", and has done so for some time. Email requesting more information and/or a resolution timeframe has not been acknowledged. Is the NZTopoOnline service officially dead?

Oberösterreich, Austria

Oberösterreich is a state in Austria.

This imagery consists of color orthophotos with a resolution of 1 meter per pixel. There is only one level of detail available, and you must be below 4600 metres to view.

Germany

Germany is a country located in Europe.

This server covers most of Germany, but at a lower resolution than the NRW server.

You may need to turn off the NRW layer in the Layer Manager if viewing that region.

Note: this server is no longer functioning, however the settings have been kept in OneEarth so previously downloaded imagery is still available.

Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Baden-Württemberg is a federal state of Germany.

You may need to turn off the Germany layer in the Layer Manager if viewing this region.

Note: this server is no longer functioning, however the settings have been kept in OneEarth so previously downloaded imagery is still available.

NRW, Germany

Nordrhein-Westfalen is a federal state of Germany.

You may need to turn off the Germany layer in the Layer Manager if viewing this region.

Note: You must be at an altitude of less than 3500 for the imagery to appear.

Ruhrgebiet, NRW, Germany

Ruhrgebiet is an urban area in NRW, Germany. The NRW imagery will appear over this imagery. You can use the Layer Manager to only show this layer.

La Rioja, Spain

La Rioja is a province of Spain. The imagery includes the entire province.

Delaware, USA

Delaware is a state in the USA. The imagery includes the entire state.

Note: There are some issues downloading tiles close to the edge.

Montana, USA

Montana is a state in the USA. The imgery includes select cities from the state.

British Columbia, Canada

British Columbia is a Canadian province.
