From World Wind Wiki
People have been asking for a way to convert their caches from 1.2e to 1.3. Here are the steps to do it.
- First, download this file: http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=313
- Unzip the file into your NASA folder.. for ease of finding it later.
- Now we need to copy the 1.2e cache folders out we are going to convert
- \NASA\World Wind v1.2\Cache\Earth\High-Resolution Terrain Mapped Imagery\JPL Global Landsat Mosaic (False-Color Bands – Panshapened)
- \NASA\World Wind v1.2\Cache\Earth\High-Resolution Terrain Mapped Imagery\JPL Global Landsat Mosaic (Visible Bands – Panshapened)
Copy these folders out of the cache folder and into the NASA root folder
- Double click the movingcache executable, it will open a small application window asking for the folder to convert.
- Click the browser button and go to where you have copied the two above folders and select one of them.
- Click “Fix” and it will do the conversion
- When done, select the other cache folder and do the same.
- The cache folders and files have been converted and can now be viewed in World Wind 1.3
- Go into the folder JPL Global Landsat Mosaic (False-Color Bands – Panshapened) and copy the folders 0 through 5 into the World Wind 1.3 Cache located here: \NASA\World Wind 1.3\Cache\Earth\High Resolution Imagery\Community Landsat7 (Pseudo Color)
- Then go into the folder JPL Global Landsat Mosaic (Visible Bands – Panshapened) and copy the folders 0 through 6 into the World Wind 1.3 Cache located here: \NASA\World Wind 1.3\Cache\Earth\High Resolution Imagery\Community Landsat7 (Visible Color)
You are done, start WW and select either the WWC Visible layer or the WWC Pseudo layer and see your copied over images!
